Chromebook Distribution Update:
If your student has not received his or her Chromebook yet, it may be because some of the new students are not quite in the Chromebook check out system. This is very different from being enrolled in our school. Please know that we will issue them a device as soon as we can. Thank you! Go Stingers!!!

A message from Nurse Scott:
Hello Stinger Parents!
Just a reminder: ALL student medications that are taken during school hours must meet district policy guidelines and go through the school nurse. Also, medications must have school paperwork signed by the parents.
Thanks,
Aaron Scott, BSN, RN

Returning 8th grade students received their Chromebooks, chargers and bags today. Returning 6th and 7th grade students will receive theirs on Tuesday, Aug. 15. New students will receive theirs on Wednesday, Aug. 16. Making sure all students have a Chromebook, charger and bag is a high priority for this first week of school. We will also ensure that all students will be able to log in and be ready to use their Chromebooks for instruction in the classroom. We appreciate your patience with this process as it is massive. Chromebook insurance is being offered again this year. The deadline to sign up for chromebook insurance for the 2023-2024 school year is September 29, 2023. Please follow this link for more information. Thank you! Go Stingers!!!

'Twas the night before school starts,
And you could feel it in the air.
The creatures were stirring:
Hornets, Comets. Senators, and Bears!
The Hornets were buzzing
With excitement for the year,
As Maumelle got ready
To hoot, holler, and cheer!
The Comets are zooming,
Moving at lightning speed
For a great, new school year,
Guaranteed!
The Senators are ready
To make their mark.
Leading in the community
From the school to the park.
And the Bears are waking
From summer hibernation,
To take on the school year
Ready and unshaken.
So go to bed
And get some rest
As we begin tomorrow anew
To make this school year the best!

Thoughtful Thursday: In addition to working on education skills this summer, also spend time teaching kids to be kind. PBS Kids has a Kindness is Everywhere coloring page to fill with drawings to represent acts of kindness.

One way to avoid the summer slide is to continue reading. A number of organizations offer programs to encourage reading during the summer. Imagination Library has a list of books for all grade levels.
