Great news for our PCSSD families: we are now able to offer FREE meals thanks to a recent USDA waiver. That means our virtual, blended and traditional students can eat breakfast & lunch for free through Dec. 31! http://ow.ly/GmaQ50Bh7HE #pcssdproud #equityandexcellence

Reminder MMS families, Wednesdays in our weekly schedule is an early dismissal day. School will end at 1 pm for students. Only traditional students will attend school physically on that day. Blended students will attend virtually on Wednesdays. Please be prepared to pick-up your traditional car rider by 1 pm. Car riders will be dismissed by grade level beginning with the 6th graders who will be followed by the 7th and 8th graders. Bus riders will also be dismissed at that time. Each Wednesday afternoon our school will be deep cleaned and our teachers will be involved in professional development sessions to maintain an extremely safe learning environment and to equip ourselves to provide an excellent learning experience for our students.

Ellie Miller, a parent of 6 children wrote this poem earlier this month for @thrive. Mrs. Miller states in the article that, regardless of options, there isn’t a parent who won’t relate to the words of this poem. http://ow.ly/Issp50B6w5T #pcssdproud #equityandexcellence

Arrival Procedure. It's "Back to School" time! This is Principal Burgess and I have important information regarding the first day of school. This year our arrival procedure has been modified. School starts at 8:45. Student drop off begins at 8:15. All bus riders will enter through the cafeteria. 6th and 7th graders will remain in the caferteria until the start of school. The cafeteria entrance is for 6th and 7th grade car riders as well as 8th grade car riders that choose to eat breakfast. All 8th graders and 7th grade athletes that are car riders and do not want breakfast may be dropped off at the gym entrance. All 8th graders will remain in the gym until school starts. All cars will enter the campus through the main gate and exit through the gym gate, same as before. Staff will be on site to direct traffic. All students will have their temperature checked each day before entering school. Please make it a practice to check your child each morning for fever. If they are running a fever they should stay home and you should notify the school. Dismissal from School Procedure. Now I have important information regarding school dismissal. This year our dismissal procedure has been modified as well. School ends at 4:05 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. It ends at 1:00 on Wednesdays. In order to maintain physical distancing guidelines, student movement will be supervised and controlled. Students that are bus riders will be dismissed by bus route according to bus arrival. Students that are car riders will be dismissed by grade level. This will be a staggered dismissal. All car riders will exit through the cafeteria, no exceptions. 6th graders will be dismissed to the car lane at 3:55, 7th graders will be dismissed to the car lane at 4:00 and 8th graders will be dismissed to the car lane at 4:05. All times are approximate. I ask that you arrive to campus in the order of this schedule for smoother transition of car pick up and exit off of campus. All cars will enter the campus through the main gate and exit through the gym gate, same as before. Staff will be on site to direct traffic. Student check out cannot be accommodated past 3:30. Please do your best to schedule regular appointments for your child outside of school time whenever possible. See you Monday!!!

Schedule Distribution for Maumelle Middle: We are currently moving students who chose digital learning to virtual class sections. When that is complete, we will then be changing the other students’ schedules so no more than 15 will be in a classroom at one time. Our goal is to have schedules ready by Thursday, August 20. Thank you for your patience.
