Milton P. Crenchaw is an original Tuskegee Airmen. He was one of the first African Americans (and the first in Arkansas) to be trained as a civilian licensed pilot. He was inducted into the Arkansas Black Hall of Fame in 2007.

Michael A. Conley was a track & field star who won 16 NCAA titles at the Univ. of Arkansas. He also won an Olympic gold medal in 1992 and silver medal in 1984. He was inducted into the Arkansas Black Hall of Fame in 1998.
