DELAYED START ❄ As we continue to monitor weather conditions, predictions indicate a high chance of early Tuesday morning temperatures below freezing, which increases the chances of icy roads and bridges. The safety of our students, teachers, and staff is always the first priority, so PCSSD will have a delayed start on Tuesday, December 2, for schools and district offices. Buses will run two hours later than their normal scheduled time. Tardies will not be counted for the day.
❄ We are aware of the possibility of inclement weather, and we will be monitoring weather conditions closely throughout the evening and Monday morning, December 1. At this time, all PCSSD schools will operate on a normal schedule tomorrow morning. We will provide updates as needed or as conditions change.

It is time to get ready for our Annual Stinger Christmas Tree. This is our way of bringing holiday cheer to some of our amazing students who need a little extra help. If you would like to take ornaments off of our tree, please feel free to stop by anytime starting November 17th and check them out in the front office. We ask that all new unwrapped gifts be returned by December 15th. We are so thankful for each person who has helped make this a success for the past four years. Thank you for taking class time to create cards and writings geared toward celebrating our veterans! The veteran slideshow was on display for all lunches. The cards created for thanking veterans and family members at the Fisher House in Little Rock that were picked up by the Office of Rep. French Hill (AR02).

👕 AVID Wednesday Spotlight: College Campus Visits! 🎓
This week, we are recognizing AVID scholars who are stepping beyond the classroom and onto real university campuses — experiencing college life firsthand.
These visits give our students a glimpse of what their futures can look like. They can learn about majors, scholarships, and campus traditions, and leave inspired to keep working toward their goals.

Today in Ms. Faulkner's class, Stinger Scholars took a closer look at the brain — how it works and how each part has its own special job. Students compared human and sheep brains to see how their structures are alike and different.
Groups also played “medical detective” by predicting what might happen if certain parts of the brain were injured or not working correctly. It was awesome to see everyone thinking critically and connecting what they’ve learned! Go Stingers!!!

Each group became “experts” on characters, setting, beginning, middle, or end, and then taught their classmates what they learned.
“It’s been wonderful watching them collaborate, think critically, and deepen their understanding of how stories work! Way to go, scholars,” Mrs. DeWitt shared.
Don’t forget to wear your AVID shirts tomorrow, celebrate student success, and keep building those college and career ready skills!
