Several Sylvan Hills High students competed at the track & field Meet of Champs, the best of the best in Arkansas!
🎽 Kenan Morris finished 4th in the high jump.
👟Tyler Scott finished 3rd in long jump and 5th in the high jump.
⏱️ The relay team finished 6th.
🏁Paris Wilburd finished 4th in the 100 meter hurdles.
🥇 Josiah Rainey can still claim to be the fastest man in Arkansas. He finished first in the 100 meter.

Attention Sylvan Hills families and Sherwood community - the Sylvan Hills High School track will be closed for approximately 6 weeks effective tomorrow, May 17. The track is closed while new turf is installed. We appreciate your patience while this track improvement takes place. Go Bears!
Make sure to congratulate our Girls and Boys who competed in the 5A State Track Meet last week! We had 5 girls and 13 boys qualify for the State Meet, and based on their performances, we expect 6-7 to be invited to the Meet of Champs!

👟 Ski Walker (Triple Jump)
🏁 Paris Wilburd (100 meter dash, 200 meter dash, 400 meter dash, Long Jump, and 100 meter hurdles)
- Paris took 2nd place in the hurdles with a time of 15.37...1st place was 15.36!!)
Boys Recap:
Boys who competed were Josiah Rainey, Joseph Thompson, Tyler Blakely, Antonio Reed, Marcus Heard, Calliyon Williams, Nigel Casey, LeDarius Anthony, Jackson Dowdy, Jackson Walker, Kortez Anthony, Tyler Scott, and Kenan Morris.
The boys team finished in 3rd Place overall (missing 2nd place by 6 points). This is the best the Boy Bears have done in over a decade.

The Philander Smith Director of Choirs presented Sylvan Hills High Senior, X’Zavier, with a full ride scholarship to Philander Smith University! He also informed X’Zavier he would be touring and performing with Philander Smith Choir in Los Angeles and surrounding areas this summer at no cost!
Congratulations to the two Sylvan Hills High students who earned the Arkansas Seal of Biliteracy for demonstrating proficiency in English and one or more other languages by high school graduation. Outstanding accomplishment!

Sylvan Hills High School proudly recognizes Nathan Lam, a rising senior in the Arkansas Children's Academy of Medical Sciences, for being selected to participate in the Arkansas Children's Research Institute Summer Science Program. Nathan hopes to become a physician, and this program will offer meaningful, hands-on experience.
