What a weekend for our Maumelle archers!
Pine Forest Elementary School's archery team earned its fourth trip, and Maumelle Middle School made their third trip -- to the Arkansas National Archery in the Schools Program (ANASP) 2017 State Archery Tournament in Hot Springs, Ark. Friday and Saturday. Both teams placed 10th, qualifying them for a trip to the national competition in Kentucky this May. This will be Maumelle Middle School's first appearance at nationals and the third trip for Pine Forest.
Many personal best scores were shot, with Brian Fender leading the Maumelle Middle team with a score of 279/300, closely followed by Noah Brown with a score of 276/300.
Pine Forest was lead by Bailey Mason with a score of 268/300. Hunter Grumbles had the next highest score of 257/300.
Bailey Mason placed second overall elementary girls, bringing home the first trophy won at a state tournament by anyone in the program.
Congratulations to these amazing PCSSD archers and their coaches Tonya Raborn and Kelly DuVun.
